Gerdemann Garden - View the Future recently hosted a community celebration at the Yachats Commons to honor Jim and Janice Gerdemann.  The images below were taken in their garden in early March.  To learn more about the past, present, and future of the garden, visit the Gerdemann celebration page.  View the Future has kicked off a campaign to raise $1 million for an endowment to fund a sustainable maintenance and education program for the Garden.  If you are interested in contributing to the preservation of the garden, tax deductable donations are welcome.  Jerry Sand has prepared a nice diagram of the garden that provides a better understanding of the scope the site.

Additional information about this event will be published on this site as it becomes available.

Mushrooms - At this years Yachats Mushroom Festival I met an OSU graduate student working on mushroom research.  His photos of these plants were fascinating, varied, and in many shapes and colors.  He has consented to allow his photos to be shown on this site and in return I have agreed to help him raise a little money for his research.  For more information, take a look at the mushroom page under Photo Events.

Why I live in Yachats:
Where I live is a reflection of who I am and how I want to live. It is my home, an extension of my soul. It is where my spirit rests and plays. I share it with the people I love and that makes all the difference.                     source: unknown
