The Friends of the Commons is pleased to announce the sponsorship of Yachats Movie Night. Free movies are shown the third Thursday of each month in the Commons. Doors open and the movie begins around 6:30pm. Why are the Friends of the Commons sponsoring free movies? One of the things that make Yachats special is the sense of community that exists here. The planners for Yachats Movie Night envisioned it as a simple way to bring people together to share a fun experience. What kind of movies will be shown? The current plan is to show a variety of movies. The license stipulates that only movies from specific studios may be shown. If you have questions about a particular movie, contact Greg Scott for more information. Each month the featured movie will be announced using an e-mail distribution list and posted in the Commons. If you would like to be notified about the movie being shown each month, click here and send a blank note with the words "movie night" in the subject line. A few individuals have expressed concerns about which movies will be shown and the potential for offending people. Please understand that this experience is about a community social event and having fun. The decision to show a particular movie is not intended to make a political or cultural statement.
