DAVID BURNETT was born in New York City and graduated from the High School of Music and Art. He attended Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Boston Conservatory. Mr. Burnett has played with the New York Youth Symphony, the All-City Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic and the Ashland Symphony. In 1987, he established the West Village Quartet, where he is second violinist. The West Village was presented in 1992 by Today's Artists Concerts in a joint recital with pianist Jean-Louis Steuerman at San Francisco 's Herbst Theatre and by Four Seasons Concerts in 1998 and 2000 in joint recitals with pianist Leon Bates at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Oakland. They have performed in the West Indies and throughout the United States. Several television appearances have included "Entertainment Tonight," "20/20," and PBS's "Children's Express." Their recent CD is available from Sound Track Studios. In addition to his performance schedule, Mr. Burnett teaches at the Harlem School of the Arts in New York City. Some of his students were featured in the Meryl Streep film, Music of the Heart. |
