GWENDOLYN BROWN was born and raised in Chicago and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Musical Arts from Fisk University where she was a member of the Fisk Jubilee Singers.  She pursued her Masters in Vocal Performance at The University of Memphis.  Ms. Brown is an alumna of the Lyric Opera Center for Young American Artists where she understudied and sang several roles including premiering the role of the Nurse in Bruce Saylor's Orpheus Descending.

She has performed in oratorio performances as well as recitals throughout the United States, and in 1995 gave her voice to the character of Marian Anderson for the HBO Productions movie Soul of the Game.  Ms. Brown's many awards include Regional Winner, Metropolitan Opera Council ( Memphis ) and Finalist, Central Region - Metropolitan Opera Council (Chicago).

Ms. Brown has given many master classes and lectures and in 1998 was vocal coach for Dillard University Theatre in the production of James Weldon Johnson's God's Trombones.  She also coaches singers and ministers in the field of Christian Music.
