JOSEPH KUBERA has gained international acclaim as a major interpreter of contemporary music.  His many engagements have included solo performances at festivals in Miami, Prague and Berlin , and at the Henry Cowell Centennial Festivals in Berkeley (California) and in New York.

Mr. Kubera has been awarded grants through the NEA Solo Recitalists Program, the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts, and other organizations.  A leading proponent of the music of John Cage, Mr. Kubera's recording of the complete Music of Change is available on the Lovely Music label, and he has recorded the Concert for Piano and Orchestra with the Orchestra of the S.E.M. Ensemble for Wergo.  At Cage's invitation, he toured worldwide with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.

Mr. Kubera has worked with a broad range of ensembles in New York , including the S.E.M. Ensemble, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and Steve Reich and Musicians.  He performs and tours widely with new music baritone Thomas Buckner and has worked closely with such composers as Robert Ashley, Roscoe Mitchell, LaMonte Young and Peter Zummo.  He has recorded for the Wergo, Lovely Music 00 Discs, 1750 Arch and Opus One labels.
