PIERRE D'ARCHAMBEAU was born in Belgium.  He started piano lessons when he was four years old and three years later started studying the violin.  When he was nine, he gave his first violin recital in the United States.  He has won many prizes, among them the International Competition of Geneva, the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium Competition and the medal of the Eugene Ysaye Foundation.

Mr. D'Archambeau comes from a long line of musicians.  His father, Ywan D'Archambeau, was the cellist of the celebrated Flonzaley Quartet during the 1920's and 1930's.  Pierre D'Archambeau has enjoyed an international reputation not only as a recitalist, but also as a soloist with many orchestras.  A particular honor was bestowed upon him by Fritz Kreisler who bequeathed to him the famed Daniel Parker (1715) violin.  Mr. D'Archambeau appeared in a San Francisco recital of unaccompanied works for violin in 1980 and again in recital in 1986.

Mr. D'Archambeau performed with Elwyn Adams and pianist Leon Bates in Today's Artists Concerts' Two Violins concert in 1992 at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City.  He continues to perform internationally, and records on the Orion label.
